DONE DEALS
David McNee
Full-time
Signed for Life Church after a long and illustrious career with UCCF serving students across the South East, Dave is a versatile team player with a special eye for the theological. An elder with us now for almost 2 years, Dave will be focus most of his time around teaching and training across Life Church, reaching students and overseeing the establishment of the site at The Boathouse. Easily the most physically fit of all the Elders, Dave’s a midfield engine that will both drive things forward and maintain a solid theological foundation in defence of the gospel. Chris Kilby, Player-Manager of Life Church was quoted as saying “By the end of our time talking and praying together as elders, we were all of one heart and mind, and convinced that God was telling us to set apart Dave McNee for the ministry that God has called him to. “
Naomi Anderson
Full Time
After a brief spell in South America, Naomi is being signed on a free transfer due to Covid-19 leading to a highly successful spell as an intern with the Life Church team. Naomi brings an efficiency only previously seen in the German teams of the 1990s combined with a creative flair picked up through her love of international travel meaning that Anderson is the perfect fit for these key background roles. James Hatcher, Operations Manager, enthused at the signing “Whilst you won’t see her name on the backpage headlines too often, her work will be key for helping release the rest of the team into all that God has for them to accomplish in this next season.” An unassuming pocket dynamo, Naomi Anderson could well turn out to be the signing of a lifetime!
Michael Percy
2 days per week
A rising star in the creative world, Michael has packed a lot into his career thus far developing a highly successful wedding photography and videography business before taking the opportunity to work for Everyday Church across London. His previous manager stating “He is a real people person and a great team player with much respect and trust from the many staff and volunteers he has contact with.” With his paramedic wife Ursula by his side in case of any keyboard related injuries, Michael’s creative design, graphics, web development, videography and photography skills are just waiting to be unleashed. In a combine role alongside his Commission job, Percy’s versatility and style are sure to attract interest from far and wide for the Kingdom!
NEW CONTRACTS
Sash Vale
2.5 days per week
Sash is one of the longest-serving members of the team who has put pen to paper on a new contract reducing his hours to enable more time with his young family. He has played in almost every position for the team and is ready and willing whenever called upon to apply his wealth of experience for the good of all of those around him. A depth of technical expertise alongside a heart of compassion makes him a real all-rounder and this new deal is a real coup!
Jemma Brown
Part Time
Now into the second year of her internship, Jemma Brown offers a view on the game like no other. A viral social media star in her own right, image rights could have been an issue in contract negotiations but her willingness to lay down her life for Jesus meant there was only one outcome and Life Church are delighted to have secured her services for yet another year of dedication!
MOVING ON
Jenave Jeevananthan
Part Time
This club legend has been a servant of the club for many years volunteering on Tuesdays and has brought an efficiency to the backroom of Life Church but the time has come to hang up her volunteering boots (until she can be persuaded out of volunteer retirement!) Life Church is extremely thankful for her years of diligent service but we are glad that she’s staying with us even though she’ll be missed around the office!
TRANSFER RUMOURS
Weekday Volunteer
Coming soon!..
With the pending opening of the new stadium (aka The Boathouse) there are rumours that those with time available during the week are offering their services on a voluntary basis and there is always the hope of a late recruitment of an intern.
If you’re interested in getting involved with an incredible team of superstars then get in touch – check Weekday Volunteer or Internship (or any other team) and tell us more…
Whilst football clubs around the world splash the cash funded by oil-rich tycoons, Russian oligarchs and fan-fed ticket sales, Life Church continues to rely on the funding from the storehouses of Heaven which never run dry. With resources like this at their disposal, a people with generosity at their hearts and the greatest player-manager of all time – Jesus Christ – at the helm, it seems clear that there is great promise in the season ahead!
