One Church – Many Adventures!

By 6th October 2021Blog Post, One Church

Exciting times!

It has been so thrilling to see the church re-engaging and many new people joining us on our shared adventure, as well as seeing life begin to happen at The Boathouse.

One Church

We have an amazing opportunity to celebrate all the progress this Sunday as we all come together for our first One Church Sunday in two years! I really want to encourage members of all our four sites to pull out all the stops to be with us in person. These ‘One Church’ moments are really important for us to worship and be in the presence of God together, and to appreciate all he is doing among us. It may be that you’ve not made it back yet, so this would be a great time to re-connect. It will also be a great opportunity to invite friends and family to celebrate with us.

One New Venue

We shall be meeting at King Edwards School, just two roads down from Taunton’s College. This is going to be the new venue for the site that used to meet at the college. There is plenty of parking and great facilities and we would love to celebrate this move with the whole Life Church family. Having sent many of you out to pioneer in West End, Lordshill, and The Boathouse, we are really excited that the first of our sites is having a new adventure!

One Special Guest

Our guest speaker will be our friend and apostolic leader, Guy Miller. He leads the Commission family of churches and is very pleased to be joining us with his wife Heather for this special morning. Life Church is the fruit of Guy’s ministry, and so we are really pleased to have him join us and stir us for our part in the wider picture of our global gospel advance.

One Commission Offering

As part of the morning we shall watch a short film of some of the progress our Commission churches have been making around the world.

Normally in the summer we all gather to camp and enjoy Westpoint/Connect Festival where we take an offering to support and encourage church planting and apostolic mission in the UK and the many other nations we are involved in.

We would like to take up an offering this Sunday so that we can all play our part in God’s great adventure. Please come ready to give cheerfully and generously – the nations need the beautiful gospel of the Kingdom.

I am aware this comes on the back of our Building Gift Days, where so many have given sacrificially, so thank you in advance for your faith and courage to keep giving with such love and faith.

Much love

Chris Kilby
Senior Leader
